What is DISC™?

DISC™ is an energy performance simulation tool for architects and engineers.
DISC™’s user-friendly reports can be used to compare the energy efficiency of different solar shading and control systems for a given office space.
DISC™ - Dynamic Insulation™ Strategies and Comparison - was designed and validated by leading technologists in government research, academia and industry.

Two unique new modules

The basis of DISC™ is Lund University’s simulation tool, ParaSol, which runs on a sophisticated building physics processes simulation program, the Derob-engine.
DISC™ adds a user-friendly interface plus two unique new modules:

- The fabric selection module with its certified database containing physical data for more than 1200 commercially available fabrics

- The controls strategy module, enabling users to control shading systems using various sensor values, not just solar radiation

The graphical reports have been validated by Lund University’s Division of Energy and Building Design.
